# Creating Promo Code
### **Overview**
Promo codes give members a fixed amount or a percentage off eligible packages and courses. You choose what the code applies to, when it is valid and how many times it can be used.
**Availability:** Promo codes are available on the **Most Popular** plan and above.
You can open the Promo Code page from **Marketing** → **Offers & Rewards** → **Promo Code**

### **How to create a promo code**
#### **Step 1: Open the Promo Code page**
In the Admin Portal, go to **Marketing**. Under **Offers & Rewards**, click **Promo Code**.
#### **Step 2: Click Create Promo Code**
On the **Manage Promo Codes** page, click **Create Promo Code** at the top right.
#### **Step 3: Fill in the promo code details**
The **Add new promo code** form opens. Enter the code, name, discount type and value, then set the dates, eligible packages, courses and limits. See *Promo code settings explained* below for what each field does.
#### **Step 4: Choose when to activate it, then submit**
At the bottom of the form, choose **Yes** to activate the code immediately or **No** to save it inactive. Click **Submit**.
The new code appears in the **Manage Promo Codes** list.
### **Promo code settings explained**
| Field | What it does | Example |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Promo Code** | The code members enter to get the discount. | PROMO20 |
| **Name** | A name to identify the promo code in your list. | 20 OFF |
| **Discount Type** | **Fixed** takes a set amount off. **Percentage** takes a percentage off. | Fixed |
| **Discount Value** | The amount or percentage to take off, depending on the discount type. | 20 |
| **Start Date / Start time** | When the code starts working. | 29 Apr 2025, 11:00 AM |
| **End Date / End time** | When the code stops working. | 30 Apr 2025, 12:00 AM |
| **Eligible Packages** | The packages the code can be used on. Select one or more from the list. | One-Time Member Registration Fee |
| **Course Restrictions** | The courses the code can be used on. Select one or more from the list. | Climb, Community Event Class |
| **Redeem Limit** | The maximum number of times a single member can redeem the code. Leave blank for unlimited. | 1 |
| **Number of People Limit** | The maximum number of members who can redeem the code. Leave blank for unlimited. | 50 |
| **Activate immediately?** | **Yes** makes the code usable right away. **No** saves it inactive until you switch it on. | Yes |

### **Managing your promo codes**
The **Manage Promo Codes** list shows each code's name, code, discount type and value, start and end dates, number of uses and activation status. Use the **Actions** column to manage a code:
- **View details (i icon):** opens **Promo code details**, with the code's restrictions, limits, activation status, number of uses and validity period.
- **Edit (pencil icon):** opens **Edit promo code**, where you can change any setting and submit again.
- **Delete (bin icon):** removes the code after you confirm. This can't be undone.
To switch a code on or off without deleting it, use the toggle in the **Activated** column.
